Carter Pate

Interim Chief Executive Officer

Carter Pate was appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer of Providence in November 2017. Mr. Pate brings to Providence extensive experience in healthcare, logistics, transportation and government contracting, areas directly aligned with the Company’s operating businesses and end markets. Mr. Pate joined Providence from Carter Pate, LLC, a resource for management and boards of directors seeking expertise and interim C-suite services, where he served as Founder and CEO. From 2011 to 2014, he served as the CEO of one of the largest privately owned passenger transportation contracting firms based in the United States. Prior to that, Mr. Pate spent nearly two decades at PricewaterhouseCoopers, most recently serving as Global & U.S. Managing Partner, Capital Projects, Infrastructure & Government Practice. During his tenure at PwC, Mr. Pate held multiple leadership positions and advised Fortune 500 companies and G-20 governments. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for BioScrip, Inc. and Board Chair of Compensation for Advanced Emissions Solutions, Inc. Author of "The Phoenix Effect" (now in five languages), Mr. Pate was recently named a “Board Governance Fellow” by the National Association of Corporate Directors. Mr. Pate holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Greensboro College and a masters of accounting & information management from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Kevin Dotts

Chief Financial Officer

Kevin Dotts was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Providence and LogistiCare in August 2018. Mr. Dotts has over 30 years of experience as a finance and accounting executive at multiple technology companies, serving 14 of those years in the position of chief financial officer. Before joining Providence, Mr. Dotts served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Birch Communications, Inc. and its successor, Fusion Connect, Inc. since February 2017. Prior to that Mr. Dotts held CFO roles at Internap, Culligan International and Earthlink. Mr. Dotts began his career at General Electric Company (“GE”) and served in increasingly senior financial roles during his 15 years of tenure at GE. Mr. Dotts received a bachelor’s degree in finance and computer systems management from Drexel University.

David Shackelton

Chief Transformation Officer

David Shackelton has served as our Chief Transformation Officer since April 2018, having previously served as our Chief Financial Officer from 2015 until 2018 and Head of Corporate Development for Providence from 2014 until 2015. Prior to joining Providence, Mr. Shackelton was a private equity investment professional at Mill Road Capital and The Blackstone Group. Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Shackelton worked at the Yale Investments Office, the entity responsible for investing Yale University’s endowment funds. Mr. Shackelton received a bachelor's degree in economics from Yale University and a master of business administration degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Laurence Orton

Interim Chief Accounting Officer, SVP Finance

Laurence Orton has served as our Interim Chief Accounting Officer and SVP Finance since April 2018, having previously served as our Corporate Controller and Vice President Finance from 2017 until 2018. Prior to joining Providence, he was with Chemtura Corporation where he most recently served as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. Prior to working at Chemtura, Mr. Orton worked at Avecia Group PLC and Ernst and Young in the United Kingdom. Mr. Orton received a bachelor's degree in industrial economics from the University of Nottingham, U.K. School of Management and Finance and is a member of the Association of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales.

William Severance

Executive Vice President, Finance, Office of the Providence CEO

William Severance has served as our Executive Vice President, Finance, Office of the Providence CEO since August 2018, having previously served as our Interim Chief Financial Officer from April until August 2018, and as our Chief Accounting Officer from 2016 until April 2018. Prior to joining Providence, Mr. Severance held the Chief Accounting Officer and Controller role at a number of companies, including: the Gilt Groupe, a pioneer in e-commerce in the U.S.; Travelport Worldwide, a global travel commerce platform providing distribution and technology solutions to the travel industry; and IAC/Interactive Corp, a leading media and Internet company. Mr. Severance also worked for 11 years for Ernst and Young in the Atlanta, New York and Hamburg, Germany offices, providing services to a wide range of companies, including American Standard, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Mizuno USA, Mobil Oil, Time Warner Music Group and Staples. Mr. Severance received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Louisiana State University and is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs and American Institute of CPAs.

Sophia Tawil

Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Secretary

Sophia Tawil has served as our General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Secretary since 2016. Ms. Tawil is responsible for oversight of corporate legal matters, including those relating to the company's growth initiatives, governance and compliance. Prior to joining Providence, she worked at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP as a Senior Attorney since 2014 and as a Corporate Associate from 2006 to 2014. Prior to that, her experience includes in-house roles, including at USA Networks, Inc., a predecessor to IAC/InterActiveCorp. Ms. Tawil received a bachelor’s degree from Barnard College, Columbia University and a juris doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
